Equity Release - releasing the equity in your home
  Checklist

Equity Release Plan Checklist

  • Evidence of your identity together with your name and address. A passport or driving license would be fine.

  • Birth and marriage certificates.

  • Details of savings, investments and any State benefits. A financial adviser will need a complete picture of your finances to help you to assess if equity release is right for you.

  • House and Buildings insurance. The Equity Release Plan Provider will check your policy, before they can arrange for the money to be sent to you.

  • A cheque for the valuation fees. You may be asked to pay for an up-to-date valuation of your home. This fee is not normally refundable if you subsequently decide an Equity Release plan is not for you. However, you will possess a detailed report on your property!
